Support from Personal Connections
Requesting assistance from family and friends should inspire you to invest in those who invest in you. People are genuinely interested in who you are and what your dreams and goals are, just as you should be genuinely interested in them. Make it personal.
Family and Friends: Write a letter requesting prayer and financial support from your family and friends. Share with them what you want to do, how God has given you a vision, and what the need is. You might find 10 family/friends who would be willing to pay a portion of each monthly payment. Make it personal by sending thank-you notes, as well as monthly email updates on how you are doing.
Church Family: Once again, share your vision and what God is calling you into. Host your own fundraiser banquet by cooking a meal prior to attending school, with an added promise to the donors of another meal after you graduate to demonstrate all that you learned thanks to their generosity.
CCA has an in-house scholarship fund for incoming students. Awards are based primarily on financial need and are dispersed through the student's chosen payment schedule. After completing and turning in the Application for Admission, prospective students may request and complete the scholarship application. Award amount depends on annual donations to the fund, but in the past students in need have received $1,000-$3,000 in award. Application deadline for each Fall semester is September 1, with award announced on September 15. Requirements are:
- Acceptance to the Christian Culinary Academy
- Household income less than $60,000/year
- Application & Essay
- Note: Funds are not available for students requesting the optional additional cost of "Single-Occupancy" housing
In addition to the CCA scholarship, students may apply for industry, community, religion, ethnicity, and other scholarships. Some scholarships we suggest incoming students may qualify for use at our school are:
Work Study During School Year
The Cannon Beach Conference Center and many local restaurants offer part-time employment during a student's time at the Christian Culinary Academy. Although part-time employment is allowed, the intensive nature of culinary school and employment are likely to be overwhelming to a student. Plus, not all classes and field trips are scheduled at the same time, and a student must schedule their work around their class schedule. Schedules are provided 1-2 weeks in advance.
Employment Prior to School Year
In addition to finding your own work, the following facilities encourage accepted students of CCA to apply. Each facility below offers both pay and housing. In addition, through Christian Chefs International, we are connected with over a thousand Christian cooks and chefs from all over, so get in touch with us about other employment assistance in your area and beyond.
Grants & Loans
As a career school licensed by the Oregon Department of Education, students may qualify for bank loans for our program. Because CCA is not a 2-year degree granting university, students at CCA do not qualify for FAFSA federally subsidized grants or loans. Being that CCA is about a third the Cost of most culinary schools, students generally pay less here than at other schools offering federal assistance.
